Josh Jones event organizer and manager of Black Market Goods said the show’s title is a play on words involving American Indians and ingenuity. “The term ‘ingenuity’ is basically making do with what you’ve got almost MacGyvering everything” Jones said. “That’s basically reservation living right there. For Jones the exhibit has been a long-time goal. “This is one of the first times I’ve started featuring my Native American art or themed art” Jones said.

The sale will feature several distinguished private collections among them: The Estate of Herbert Wellington; Property from the Collection of Morton and Estelle Sosland sold to benefit the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation; Property from the Evan Maurer-Naomi Margolis Collection; the Estate of Milton and Frieda Rosenthal; and Property from the Collection of Mrs. Novella and the Late Edwin C. Works from the sale will be on exhibition at Sotheby’s New York beginning May 16.

I really am” the 22-year-old college student from Chapel Hill North Carolina said after his ouster from the show last night. The two contestant were dismissed last night instead of the usual one as the judges had already given Matt Giraud a second chance last week through the one-time Judges’ Save.

American Indian Nation Plans for a Pandemic

A team from the Center for Domestic Preparedness located in Anniston Ala. delivered a three-day pandemic awareness course to the neida Indian Nation on nation lands in central New York in March. The neida Indian Nation is currently establishing several emergency response protocols in writing and the Pandemic. “We have a small police force and in the event of a pandemic or emergency we will assume other response roles as well” said Capt. Joseph Smith of the neida Indian Nation Police Department through a press release.

Clothing and accessories that are both modern and multicultural can jazz up a casual look as well as perk up any office uniform. Tibi’s designer Amy Smilovic was inspired by the deep intense colors of India for her spring collection. She also incorporated rich American Indian patterns into her assortment of playful dresses and skirts. “People are so invigorated with the beauty of a picture from India” she said although she’s never visited the country. “It seems to embrace color more than any others. It doesn’t matter your economic class you’re still wearing pink and orange. So when you see those images you can’t help but want to replicate that.
